ARCHER2 User Survey - giving your input

We have recently launched the ARCHER2 User Survey for 2026. When we all are asked to review every pizza, pair of socks or gym membership we buy, why should you bother with this survey and what happens to the data you provide?

The ARCHER2 survey is important in several ways:

  • It is an opportunity for you to tell us what you think of all aspects of the service including the option to provide detailed feedback to suggest improvements
  • The published report goes to UKRI complete with all your comments and feeds into their plans and business cases for investment in future services. Your feedback therefore directly impacts the services you will have to run future research.
  • EPCC reads all your comments and uses them to plan and deliver service improvements. You may have seen this reported on and discussed at the User Forum of the ARCHER2 Celebration of Science recently. Some examples of improvements made after your suggestions include:
    • The data upload period for the User Job Report in SAFE was reduced from 1 day to 6 hours
    • Our CSE team are working with HPE on a newer ROCm version for GPU nodes at your request
    • Better documentation of fairshare was requested https://docs.archer2.ac.uk/user-guide/scheduler/#priority
    • More information on queueing priority was requested and provided https://docs.archer2.ac.uk/user-guide/scheduler/#priority
  • A donation of £1 is made to Save The Children for every reply you submit
  • You may win one of 5 £50 Amazon vouchers selected randomly

So please, as we head towards the end of the ARCHER2 service, take the opportunity to send us your input and thoughts.
